3 -bath o bathe?-
Nota d'usoA bath è la vasca in cui si fa il bagno, di conseguenza to bath someone o to give someone a bath, significa “fare il bagno a qualcuno”. Bathe invece si riferisce al bagno al mare, in piscina o in un fiume; come verbo significa “fare il bagno” nel senso di nuotare, ma anche “immergere, immergersi”: to bathe in the sea, fare il bagno nel mare; to bathe a wound with water, lavare una ferita. In inglese americano to bathe può anche essere sinonimo di to bath, nel senso di “fare il bagno a qualcuno”. -

Nota d'usoL'avverbio italiano come può essere tradotto con “like” o con “as”, a seconda dei contesti d'uso. Quando si vuole illustrare una funzione o un ruolo, si utilizza “as”: Uso il bagno come sgabuzzino, I'm using the bathroom as a store room; Ha lavorato come cameriere a Londra, he worked as a waiter in London.
